Laser projectors are becoming increasingly popular these days. As a contender, Epson has just launched the EH-QS100B - a 4K PRO-UHD laser projector for home entertainment. With a super-short-throw design, it projects images up to 160 inches while requiring minimal space— making it ideal for small rooms or TV replacements.
The EH-QS100B features 4K PRO-UHD resolution with advanced frame interpolation and resolution enhancement tech for detailed image clarity. The 3LCD laser light source delivers 4,500 lumens for both color and white light output, with a dynamic contrast ratio exceeding 5,000,000:1. This combination allows for bright, sharp visuals across varying lighting conditions. The projector supports HDR10 and HLG formats.
Epson states that the laser light source has a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours across high, medium, and Eco modes. The projector has a throw ratio of 0.16 to 0.22:1, enabling short distances for large image projection. Additional optical features include manual focus, a 1.35x digital zoom, and a projection lens focal length of 2.3 mm.
Connectivity options include dual HDMI (HDCP 2.3), USB-A, USB-B, and ethernet, along with HDMI ARC support. For networking and control, the EH-QS100B is compatible with Crestron, Control4, ESC/VP.net, and PJLink protocols for integration into smart home platforms. Noise levels are rated at 34 dB in normal mode and 20 dB in Eco mode.
With a weight of 12 kg and dimensions of 695 x 341 x 156 mm, the EH-QS100B can be mounted on walls, tables, or cabinets. The projector supports up to 1.07 billion colors and claims to operate efficiently across temperatures from -10°C to 60°C. At the time of writing, no pricing information is available for the same.
