TCL has launched the Q51K 4K QLED Smart TV in the US. This is an entry-level Q Series model, currently only available at Walmart. The TV is offered in the following five sizes: 43-inch, 5-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch.
The Q51K uses an HVA display with a 4K UHD resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The LED backlight is described as offering “high brightness”, though no data is provided here. There is quantum dot technology for 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, alongside the brand’s AIPQ Processor and support for Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ and HLG. Other features include Motion Rate 240, MEMC motion smoothing, and Auto Game Mode with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)
TCL’s new Q51K TV has Google TV and comes with a Google Assistant voice remote. It also works with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Apple AirPlay 2. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 and ports such as HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0 and optical audio out. Plus, there are dual built-in stereo speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. The TCL TV has a metal bezel, though it is marketed as a bezel-less model.
You can now buy the TCL Q51K 4K QLED Smart Google TV at Walmart with prices starting from $208 for the 43-inch model; a complete price list is below. Whether these TVs will remain exclusive to Walmart or launch at other stores like Amazon and Best Buy remains to be seen.
