Deal | LG B4 OLED 83-inch TV with 144 Hz refresh rate sees big 33.3% price drop
A few days ago, we reported that the 65-inch LG B4 OLED TV could be yours for just $999.99. However, a 65-inch TV may be too small for people’s needs. For those folks, Best Buy is now selling the 83-inch LG B4 OLED at an amazing discount.
At a discounted price of just $1,999.99, the 83-inch LG B4 OLED TV on sale at Best Buy is $1,000 cheaper than the list price (linked at the end).
Specs-wise, the 83-inch LG B4 OLED is a bit better than its smaller siblings in some areas. For instance, although we have the same 4K WOLED panel with 4K resolution, the display has a 144 Hz native refresh rate and LG’s in-house α9 AI Gen 7 image processor. Moreover, the chassis of the TV incorporates four HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB ports, and a 2.2-channel downward-firing speaker.
When it comes to picture quality, users can expect vivid and accurate colors in both HDR and SDR thanks to the infinite contrast ratio, wide DCI-P3 coverage, and excellent factory calibration. The LG B4 OLED also boasts wide viewing angles and handles low-quality content smoothing/4K upscaling rather well.
Additionally, the 83-inch LG B4 OLED is also a pretty good TV for gaming. The high 144 Hz refresh rate alongside low input lag, fast response time, and VRR support will result in a smooth, tear-free gaming experience.
Sadly, the LG B4 shows its budget nature in brightness and reflection handling. Rtings rates the TV at a 6.3 for “Direct Reflections” and a 6.9/6.6 for HDR/SDR brightness. These scores aren’t surprising, since the LG B4 is an entry-level OLED TV. If you want a brighter panel, the LG C4 OLED is where you should be looking.
That said, the lower brightness and middling reflection handling don’t take much away from the value offered by the 83-inch LG B4 OLED. At the currently reduced price, the TV is an undeniably good deal.
