Samsung has launched The Premiere 5 projector in the Republic of Korea. This smart home model was on show at CES 2025 and has also won a 2025 iF Design Award. A more unusual feature is support for touch interactions, thanks to the built-in infrared camera and infrared laser module. For example, you could play app-based games on a table when you connect your smartphone to the projector.
The Premiere 5 is an ultra-short throw triple laser projector with a native 1080p resolution, throwing images up to 100 inches (~254 cm) wide. It has a 0.23:1 throw ratio, meaning you could project a 100-inch image from a distance of 43 cm (~16.9 inches). The maximum brightness level of the DLP projector is said to be 560 lumens, and there is a digital keystone correction tool. Plus, Vision Booster technology can make automatic brightness, contrast and color adjustments based on the surroundings.
Gaming features include ALLM, Game Motion Plus, Hue Sync and Super Ultra Wide Game View. With Samsung SmartThings, you can control connected smart home devices like lights or air purifiers from the projector. Built-in 10W speakers support Dolby Atmos, and there is also support for Bixby voice commands, Samsung TV Mirroring and Apple AirPlay. Including the stand, the model measures 136.7 x 200.9 x 139.1 mm (~5.4 x 7.9 x 5.5 inches).
The Samsung The Premiere 5 projector retails in the Republic of Korea for KRW 1,990,000 (~$1,385). The company has yet to announce any plans to launch this model in other markets like the US, where it sells the 130” The Premiere LSP9T 4K Smart Triple Laser Projector (curr. $5,499.99 at Amazon).
