The Hisense Vidda C3 series projectors have been launched in China. At the top of this range is the Vidda C3 Ultra, a successor to the Vidda C2 Ultra, known internationally as the Hisense C2 Ultra.
The Vidda C3 is said to be the world’s first projector to use the cinema-grade MCL39 tri-color laser module. Hisense states that the projector covers 110% of the BT.2020 color gamut, has a 14,000:1 contrast ratio and delivers up to 3,200 CVIA lumens brightness; the company has yet to provide a brightness measurement for an internationally recognised standard like ISO lumens. The throw ratio is 0.9-1.5:1, and you can adjust the projection angle thanks to an integrated stand. There is also support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode.
In addition to the new laser technology, upgrades compared to the C2 Ultra include a new lens with a 10% improvement in transparency, an enhanced AI upscaling tool and an MT9681 chipset with 8 GB RAM. On top of this, it is said to be the industry’s first model to have a built-in pan-tilt subwoofer, part of a Harman JBL 2.1 channel sound system.
Hisense is selling the Vidda C3 Ultra projector in China for CNY 11,999 (~$1,660). Whether or when these new models could launch in other countries, such as the US, is unclear. The older Hisense C2 Ultra projector was released in 2024 and is currently available for $2,497.97 at Amazon.
