Hisense has launched the Laser TV Discovery X1 and Laser TV Discovery X1 Ultra in China. The former appears to be a version of the L9Q TriChroma Laser projector for this market. The Hisense L9Q was unveiled at CES 2025 and is now available to pre-order at the brand’s online store in the US.
The Hisense Laser TV Discovery X1 is available in two sizes: 92-inch and 100-inch. It uses the MCL39 laser light source, which is said to deliver up to 600 nits brightness; as a reminder, the L9Q was billed as delivering 5,000 ANSI lumens peak brightness when it was revealed at CES 2025. The 4K DLP projector is said to cover 110% of the BT.2020 color space and offers IMAX Enhanced and Filmmaker Mode. Plus, there is an integrated 7.1.2-channel Harman Kardon sound system compatible with Dolby Atmos.
The Hisense Laser TV Discovery X1 Ultra is currently offered in two sizes: 100-inch and 120-inch. However, 139-inch and 150-inch versions are expected to launch in China this September. It uses the same light source, but it is said to produce up to 1,000 nits brightness. It shares many features with the standard Discovery X1. However, it has a 9.1.4 channel sound system from Harman Kardon, again compatible with Dolby Atmos.
Hisense’s Laser TV Discovery X1 is expected to start in China from CNY 21,999 (~$3,051). Meanwhile, the Hisense Laser TV Discovery X1 Ultra starts from CNY 49,999 (~$6,935). In the US, the Hisense L9Q Triple Laser 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector is priced at $5,999.99.
