Ayaneo is now crowdfunding for the Pocket Ace on Indiegogo, its latest Snapdragon G3x Gen 2-powered gaming handheld. To recap, the company already uses the high-end mobile chipset inside the Pocket DMG and the Pocket S (curr. $554.95 on Amazon). However, the Pocket Ace is smaller than both of those handhelds at 156 x 63 x 18 mm.
As the graphic below shows, the Pocket Ace is only marginally larger than the Pocket Micro and Pocket Micro Classic. Nonetheless, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 should help the Pocket Ace deliver significantly better performance than Ayaneo's Pocket Micro options. Likewise, the Pocket Ace features faster RAM and storage, which Ayaneo complements with a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 40 W charging.
According to Ayaneo, all Pocket Ace SKUs will ship with LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 8,533 MT/s. Conversely, all but 128 GB storage variants utilise UFS 4.0 memory. In comparison, 128 GB options feature slower UFS 3.1 flash storage. Regardless, Ayaneo equips all variants with a 4.5-inch IPS display that outputs at 1,620 x 1,080 pixels with 550 nits peak brightness.
Moreover, the Pocket Ace has Hall effect triggers and joysticks, a six-axis gyroscope and an extensive cooling solution all within a housing that weighs 310 g. The Ayaneo Pocket Ace starts at $339 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and rises by increments of $80 until its 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage variant at $499. Meanwhile, the device's 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB option comes in at $599 with a single 'Retro Power' finish. At the time of publication, Ayaneo hopes to begin shipping Pocket Ace orders from next month.
