Xiaomi already has various air filters on offer and has just expanded its range with the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, which recently appeared on the company's global website. The air filter is listed under the product number AC-M25-SC, which should not be confused with AC-M15-SC, the product number for the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 has a footprint of 250 x 250 millimeters and is 555 millimeters high, so not exactly small. It is advertised being able to thoroughly clean the ambient air, with purification taking place in five individual stages. This removes various allergens such as pollen as well as unwanted odors and formaldehyde. From a health perspective, formaldehyde is anything but harmless and can be emitted, for example, from wooden furniture. Furthermore, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is also supposed to eliminate pathogens. The filter system includes an activated carbon filter and UV radiation.
A relatively comprehensive range of sensors is installed. Not only can temperature and humidity be measured, but there are also PM2.5 and PM1 sensors and a dust sensor. A CADR of 443 m³ per hour is specified, which indicates how much air can be filtered. A display is on board, and integration into the smart home is possible. Information on price or availability in the US and other markets is still pending.
