New Xiaomi air conditioner with air quality indicator arrives

The Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Healthy Wind 1.5HP has arrived in China. This new model is a cheaper version of the Air Conditioner Pro Healthy Wind 1.5HP. Its features include cooling, heating and air purifying.

The Mijia Air Conditioner Healthy Wind 1.5HP has a 780 m³/h (~27,545 ft³/h) air circulation volume and features a 108 mm (~4.3 inches) air vent. With 850W cooling power and 1,290W heating power, it is said to start cooling a room in 30 seconds or heating a room in 60 seconds. Users can choose from a range of wind modes and speeds, with the lowest setting generating just 18 dBA of noise. These settings can be controlled with the accompanying remote or through the Xiaomi app.

This smart air conditioner also has an optional health filter, which can remove formaldehyde, bacteria and dust from the air. According to Xiaomi, it can clear 99.99% of the Influenza A virus subtype H1N1 and 95% of grass pollen. It also has a 56°C (~133°F) self-cleaning mode. Users can view the levels of formaldehyde, PM2.5 and CO2 detected in the air through the brand’s app. Plus, the color of the light surrounding the built-in display also reflects the air quality.

The Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Healthy Wind 1.5HP has an APF rating of 5.32 and also supports HyperOS Connect. The internal unit has a white finish and measures 860 x 311 x 208 mm (~33.9 x 12.2 x 8.2 inches). This product is now available to pre-order in China, where it will retail for CNY 2,999 (~$417). For context, the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Healthy Wind 1.5HP costs CNY 3,699 (~$513). It is unclear whether or not it will be released in other markets globally.
