Xiaomi has unveiled the Smart Home Screen 8 PTZ Edition in China. Expected to be released in the near future, it arrives alongside the Smart Home Screen Max 27, a larger movable display.
The new Xiaomi Smart Home Screen 8 PTZ Edition appears to be a smart home hub with an integrated camera. The device’s name indicates that the camera has pan, tilt and zoom functionality. According to the product listing, it offers 360° AI care, though the company does not explain this feature in more detail. We also know that it will support HyperOS Connect.
Xiaomi’s upcoming Smart Home Screen 8 PTZ Edition has a similar design to the Smart Home Screen 10, released in 2022. It has a square shape, with a rectangular display and a fabric-covered speaker below. The teaser image shows the time, date and weekday on the home screen. However, the full functionality of this smart home hub has yet to be revealed.
The release date and RRP of the Xiaomi Smart Home Screen 9 PTZ Edition have also not been confirmed. It could be launched alongside the Smart Home Screen Max 27, which is expected to go on sale in China on August 21st. It is unclear whether or not either of these products will eventually launch in Europe, where the company has released the Smart Home Hub 2 (curr. €29.99 at Amazon Marketplace Germany).
