The Yeelight T1 Smart Track Socket is crowdfunding at Xiaomi Youpin in China. This is a modular smart home product, with tracks measuring up to 80 cm (~31.5 inches) long to hold up to eight adapters.
Yeelight’s T1 Smart Track Socket has two types of adapters, which are attached and detached from the rail with a twisting motion. One adapter features a five-pin socket with an up to 2,500W output, while the other features a USB-C and a USB-A port with a maximum output of 20W. The total combined output of the track socket is 8,000W, and the power usage is viewable on the smart 3.2-inch touchscreen on the far left of the device. The display can also show information like the time or the weather, and it can be used to control linked smart home products.
Another feature of the T1 Smart Track Socket is the integrated light strip, providing warm ambient lighting at 3,000 K with adjustable brightness. A built-in 24 GHz radar sensor can be used to trigger the light or touchscreen when a person is detected up to 1.5 m (~4.9 ft) away from the device. There are said to be multiple safety features, including overload notifications. As a Xiaomi ecosystem product, it can be remotely managed through the Xiaomi app and supports Xiao AI voice commands. It has an aluminum panel, measuring 82 mm (~3.2 inches) tall and 42 mm (~1.7 inches) deep, including the adapters.
At Xiaomi Youpin, prices for Yeelight T1 Smart Track Socket sets start from CNY 399 (~$55) for a 50 cm (~19.7 inch) track with three five-hole adapters. According to the product page, this kit will retail for CNY 699 (~$97) at the end of the crowdfunding period. At the time of writing, it is unlikely that this smart home product will be sold in markets like North America or Europe. However, the company already sells a few smart lighting products in countries like the US, such as the RGBIC LED Basic Strip Lights (20 ft set curr. $14.99 at Amazon).
