The upcoming Philips Hue Bridge Pro has leaked. Rumors about a new smart home hub from the brand began earlier this year. In August, it briefly appeared on the brand’s ‘New from Hue’ page, alongside several other upcoming smart home products.
On the Philips Hue website, the Bridge Pro is described as the brand’s “most advanced smart home hub”. The page mentions improved speeds, greater capacity and new features. More details about the device’s specifications have been revealed in a report by Smatlights.de. Apparently, this model will be five times faster than the current generation device, thanks to a 1.7 GHz quad-core Cortex A-35 CPU/GPU. It also has 8GB DDR4 SDRAM and 8GB eMMC flash storage.
Users will be able to connect up to 150 smart bulbs and lamps, and up to 50 accessories such as motion sensors and light switches. As a reminder, the current Hue Bridge officially supports up to 50 smart home devices. On top of this, the Bridge Pro will support up to 500 scenes, and MotionAware technology will allow connected smart lights to act as motion sensors. As predicted, the Hue Bridge Pro will have a Wi-Fi chip, removing the need to connect the device to your router via Ethernet. However, the model will still have an Ethernet port, as well as USB-C for a power supply.
Philips Hue is expected to officially announce the Bridge Pro at IFA 2025 in September. How much it will cost remains to be seen; as a guide, the Philips Hue Bridge (v3) retails for $65.99 (curr. $52.90 at Amazon).
