Two Philips Hue Essential light bulbs have been leaked. These products appeared shortly after a wider leak on the brand’s own website, which revealed the Hue Bridge Pro and the Hue Festavia Globe String Lights, amongst other products. Recently, the Philips Hue Essential GU10 and A60/E27 bulbs were spotted at Jumbo in Switzerland.
The product listing for the Essential GU10 bulbs indicates that these are 4.7W LED bulbs, which should run for around 15,000 hours. They can produce white and colored light with a color temperature range of 2,200 to 6,500 K and are marketed with 345 lumens brightness. For comparison, the equivalent Philips Hue GU10 bulb offers 450 lumens brightness at 4,000 K, and has a wider color temperature range of 2,000 to 6,500 K.
The Essential A60/E27 bulbs are listed as 8W LED bulbs for white and colored lighting. They have a longer life estimate of 25,000 hours, the same 2,200 to 6,500 K color temperature range and are brighter at 806 lumens. That is the same brightness level as the standard Philips E27 bulbs measured at 4,000 K. However, as with the GU10 bulb, the color temperature range is wider at 2,000 to 6,500 K.
Blog Smartlights.de indicates that these bulbs could also be sold in sets with the standard Philips Hue Bridge. The new Philips Hue Essential bulbs are expected to be officially unveiled at IFA 2025 this September, when details, including a release window and pricing, should be announced. The Essential line is expected to be cheaper than other Philips Hue products; a 2-pack of the Philips Hue GU10 bulb retails for $109.99 (Amazon).
