New Philips Hue smart bulbs with ultra-low dimming appear

New Philips Hue smart light bulbs have been spotted at Amazon in Europe. According to the product listings, the new range offers several upgrades compared to the brand’s existing models.

The Philips Hue A60 E27 and A67 E27 bulbs are offered with three types of lighting: White, White ambiance and White and color ambiance. The White bulbs deliver a 2,700K warm white light. The White ambiance bulbs deliver shades of white with color temperatures ranging from 1,000K to 20,000K, and the White and color ambiance variants cover the same range, but also offer colored lighting effects. This correlated color temperature (CCT) spectrum is far wider than that of the older models, which only supported 2,000K to 6,500K.

Philips Hue’s new bulbs also come with three brightness levels: 810 lumens, 1,100 lumens and 1,600 lumens. They offer “ultra-low dimming”, with users able to set the brightness as low as 0.2% in the brand’s app. Plus, these bulbs are said to be 40% more energy efficient than their predecessors. With the Hue app, users of the ambiance bulbs will be able to select from various lighting effects, and the Hue Bridge can be used to link many of the brand’s smart home products. Plus, they support Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home.

The Philips Hue A60 E27 and A67 E27 are listed at Amazon in countries like France and Germany, with prices starting from €15.99 for a single Philips Hue A60 E27 White 810 smart bulb. Below are the RRPs of various single smart bulbs, but multipacks will also be available. It is unclear precisely when the new Philips Hue smart bulbs will be readily available.
