Xiaomi unveils new smart LED bulb with Bluetooth Mesh and adjustable brightness

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition in China. Xiaomi packs an interesting set of features in its new cheap smart LED bulb. As for design, the bulb has a minimalist design that is almost similar to Xiaomi’s Smart LED Bulb (White and Color). This new smart home accessory uses a standard E27 lamp base and high-refractive-index PC material for the light-emitting surface.
According to Xiaomi, the Mijia LED Bulb can hit a maximum brightness of up to 500 lumens, which should be enough to light up a medium-sized room. However, the company hasn’t shared the exact dimensions of the room that the bulb is intended to illuminate. For context, the last-generation Xiaomi Smart LED bulb offers a brightness of up to 806 lumens. Plus, the color temperature can be adjusted between warm yellow light and cool white light (2700K and 6500K).
As the product name implies, it features Bluetooth Mesh technology, which allows multiple smart bulbs to be connected and controlled together without consuming router bandwidth. Furthermore, you can control the smart bulb with the Xiaomi Home app or voice assistants. Unfortunately, it lacks Matter support, meaning the bulb can’t be integrated into a smart home network with smart home devices from many other brands.
As for price, the Xiaomi Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition is priced at CNY 29.9 (~$5). Interested buyers can purchase the smart bulb directly from JD.com. In comparison, it's quite cheaper than the Philips Hue White and Color Ambience E17, which currently costs $34.99 on Amazon. There's no word on its international availability yet.
