The price of the Philips Hue Essential E27 and GU10 White and color ambiance bulbs has been revealed. Rumors about these smart light bulbs began in mid-August 2025, when they appeared at a retailer in Switzerland.
Recently, listings at Amazon Germany confirmed that single Hue Essential E27 and Hue Essential GU10 smart bulbs will be priced at €24.99 in this region. These product listings have since been removed. However, at Amazon France, kits including the Essential bulbs are still listed, but ‘Temporarily out of stock’. The first Essential Starter kit includes the Hue Bridge and two Essential B22 bulbs. The second combines the Hue Bridge, three Essential GU10 Smart Bulbs and a Smart Button.
Philips Hue’s Essential bulbs offer millions of colors and a wide range of preset lighting scenes, according to the Amazon pages. The supported color temperature range is 2,200K to 6,500K, slightly less than the 2,000K to 6,500K offered by older White and color ambiance bulbs. Plus, users will be able to dim these lights as low as 2%; the B22 and E27 bulbs provide up to 806 lumens brightness, while the GU10 bulbs deliver up to 345 lumens.
The Philips Hue Essential bulbs are compatible with all of the brand’s other products, with remote controls available in the Philips Hue app. Plus, they support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, as well as Apple Home when connected to a Hue Bridge (curr. $59.97 at Amazon). The release date of the Philips Hue Essential bulbs remains to be seen, but the products are expected to officially launch in early September.
