Pokémon Day 2026: Exclusive Bulbasaur promo card and more – here’s how to take part

On February 27, 2026, The Pokémon Company will celebrate Pokémon Day, marking the brand’s 30th anniversary. Online, fans can take part in a special logo campaign featuring all 1,025 Pokémon, with each participant receiving a randomly assigned design. Local stores, however, are set to offer an even more interactive experience. Visitors can take part in community activities such as trading card game matches, Pokémon battles on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles (with the latter currently available on Amazon for $500), and card trading sessions. The celebration will take place in hobby stores around the world. Fans can check which nearby stores are participating via the official event page.
One of the biggest highlights is likely to be an exclusive Bulbasaur promo card created specifically for Pokémon Day 2026. Anyone hoping to secure one of these limited-edition cards will need to attend a participating store event. In some cases, simply showing up may be sufficient, while other locations may require active participation in event activities. The final decision on distribution rests with each individual store. The Pokémon Company notes that the promotion is available only while supplies last and that receiving a card is not guaranteed.
In addition, fans can receive stickers, paper Pikachu caps, Play! Pokémon prize packs and a code for digital content in Pokémon GO. Depending on the store, there may also be special event prizes, such as the Elite Trainer Box Mega Evolution – Fatal Flames or the Premium Collection Mega Venusaur ex.
By the way: The Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen are also set to launch on Pokémon Day. In addition, many fans are expecting the official reveal of the 10th Pokémon generation.
