City-building game Anno 117: Pax Romana is free to enjoy over the weekend

Anno 117: Pax Romana is the latest entry in the time-honoured Anno series. Released not long ago in November 2025, the game can already be enjoyed at no cost – though only for a limited time. Between 26 February and 2 March, it is free to play not only on Ubisoft Connect but also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Although not explicitly mentioned by Ubisoft, the offer also extends to the Epic Games Store. Any saves made during this period can apparently be carried over, ensuring you don’t lose your progress if you decide to purchase the game later. In the Ubisoft Store, Anno 117: Pax Romana is discounted to $45 (down from $60) until 12 March. This price only covers the Standard Edition, which doesn’t include a season pass. PlayStation 5 owners can pick up a physical copy of the game for an even lower $40 on Amazon. Collectors may also want to check out the Governor's Edition, which bundles the Gold Edition with a range of collectible items.
Last year, we published an in-depth review of Anno 117: Pax Romana based on its gameplay and technical performance. At its core, it is a highly competent city-building game featuring several pretty interesting changes – though not quite as extensive as those introduced in Anno 1800, which benefited from years of DLC expansions. A season pass is already available for Anno 117: Pax Romana, including an Egypt-themed DLC scheduled to arrive later this year.
