Wolfenstein 3: Leak suggests development is in full swing – first details revealed

For some time now, rumors have been circulating about a new entry in the iconic shooter series Wolfenstein. The modern reboot, which began with Wolfenstein: The New Order and continued with Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, was originally planned as a trilogy but was never completed. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is widely seen as a side project rather than a true third installment. As a result, the long-awaited conclusion to the main storyline has been missing since 2017.
In the summer of 2025, MachineGames stated that it had not yet closed the book on the series. A third main entry was reportedly part of its long-term plans. A new leak now adds weight to those rumors and provides the first hints about a possible storyline. According to a report by MP1st, later echoed by Insider Gaming, the details come from an internal casting call for the project, codenamed Valkyrie. The full document, however, has not been made public.
The story reportedly centers on a new character named Sofiya, a Ukrainian orphan between eight and eleven years old who has been profoundly shaped by the war. Over the course of the narrative, she is expected to grow into a resilient survivor and develop a close bond with William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, the long-time protagonist of the series, whose return now seems very likely. According to the leak, Sofiya will travel alongside him, hinting at an emotional father-daughter dynamic. MP1st also mentions an adopted dog named Ralph and a possible connection to the Resistance.
The reported production schedule points to a project that is already well underway. Performance capture is said to begin in April, with additional filming planned for 2026. According to MP1st, work is expected to continue until at least 2027. If accurate, this suggests that a new Wolfenstein title is still some time away, though development would already be in full swing. Among fans, the mood appears largely positive, with early reactions on Reddit leaning in favor of the rumored project.
