Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen coming to Nintendo Switch, no subscription required

Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen are now available for pre-order via the Nintendo eShop. Starting Friday, February 27, the two classics can be played on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch II.
Nintendo is selling digital versions of both games for $19.99 each. Unlike most Game Boy Advance titles on the Nintendo Switch, these Pokémon classics are not being distributed as part of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription. After rumors suggested that the games would be linked to Pokémon Home so that captured Pokémon could also be transferred to newer Pokémon games, there is no mention of this feature in Nintendo's announcement.
Nintendo has announced a "Pokémon Presents" event for the release date of both games on February 27, where more information about these new versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen may be revealed. Before purchasing, it should be noted that the purchased version can be played in one language only.
The Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen editions are remakes of the Red and Blue editions, which took advantage of the Game Boy Advance's higher performance and more colorful display to enhance the graphics of the first Pokémon games from 1996. Many game mechanics have been updated to the third Pokémon generation.
