Deal | First-party Nintendo Switch 2 games discounted by 50% in rare sale, including Pokémon

Some Switch 2 games that debuted on the console’s release date still haven’t seen deep discounts. However, Costco deals featuring newer Nintendo titles are setting new low marks for sale prices. Popular targets like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are 50% off.
Shared by Wario64, the offers are available only to Costco members at many locations. To check if a store has a game in stock, use the warehouse tab in the retailer’s app.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Along with Pokémon Pokopia, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a prime target for supporters of the monster-collecting franchise. The $29.97 price is notable, since competitors like Amazon have never listed the first-party Switch 2 game below $59.99.
Carrying a 78 Metacritic score, the Pokémon game mixes up the Game Freak formula with real-time battles in an urban setting. The visuals render at a stable frame rate, and the title doesn’t lack content or missions to complete. Nevertheless, some players complain that Lumiose City feels emptier than expected.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
After an agonizing wait for the sci-fi-themed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, it received identical ratings from reviewers. Digital Foundry praised its graphics, which were effectively optimized for Switch 2 specs. There are new ways for Samus to explore Viewros, including on a motorcycle-like vehicle. Still, like with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the open world can seem a bit too barren.
Kirby Air Riders
Finally, Kirby Air Riders is another relatively fresh first-party Nintendo game. With its sale price slashed to $29.97, Mashiro Sakurai’s pet project is now at its most affordable point. While controls are simpler than Mario Kart World, the racer is difficult to master. The action is faster-paced, with combat as much of a focus as finishing first.
As the memory shortage continues, buyers dread potential price increases. Fortunately, so far, Nintendo hasn’t raised the MSRP of the console or Switch 2 games. Even though the company pledged to keep physical releases at the same prices, discounts like those at Costco aren’t likely to resurface.
