Nintendo Switch expected to get subscription-free Pokémon classics

According to the latest information from leakers @Riddler_Khu and @CentroLeaks, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are set to be released soon for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Surprisingly, the games will not be distributed as part of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which also includes Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, but rather as a paid download version in the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo probably expects to generate more revenue by selling a download version, but this is also a first step towards a Virtual Console on the Nintendo Switch that doesn't require a subscription.
Details regarding pricing are not yet available. After Pokémon Red and Blue were offered for $9.99 on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, the Game Boy Advance remakes of the two games are expected to be more expensive. However, the games are slated to receive at least one upgrade – a connection to Pokémon HOME, allowing captured Pokémon to be transferred to newer games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are remakes of the very first Pokémon games. Originally released in 2004, these titles utilize the more powerful hardware of the Game Boy Advance to give the Kanto region with more vibrant graphics and more detailed Pokémon sprites. The gameplay has been modernized to reflect the third generation of Pokémon, including Pokémon types, stats and moves.
