The Super Mario Galaxy Movie cast leak reveals a villain who could join Bowser Jr.

Even with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie cast growing with each new trailer, there may be at least one more evil addition. Nintendo Wire reported that Everyman Cinema leaked another character with a description of the film. The villain who may join forces with Bowser Jr. is a familiar presence from past games (spoilers ahead).

The London cinema has an alternate summary of the Illumination Entertainment project on its website. According to the theater chain:

After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.'s evil alliance. Now, alongside his friends and Yoshi, he must stop their plans for world domination.

Although different from most synopses, this isn’t the first reference to Wario. In September 2025, Cinepolis El Salvador posted similar text on its Instagram account.

It’s debatable whether the cinemas mistakenly provided a Super Mario Galaxy Movie cast leak. However, Everyman is a business that doesn’t have a reputation for inaccuracy. Both sources could have relied on information Nintendo plans to make public after a future promo trailer.

Chris Pratt, who will return to voice Mario, may have hinted that the rotund antagonist would appear. Just before Nintendo confirmed the presence of Yoshi, the star teased more additions. In a January GamesRadar interview, he explained that fans were in store for multiple surprises.

Why would Wario be in the next Nintendo film?

In the movie, potential partner-in-crime Bowser Jr. aims to free his jailed, shrunken father. How Wario would factor into the plot is unclear. The anti-hero debuted in the 1992 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins for the Game Boy. Wario and the Koopa Troopa prince have been seen together in Nintendo games since, but usually in sports and party titles.

If the latest Super Mario Galaxy Movie leak proves credible, the next question is who will deliver Wario’s lines. In 2023, Kevin Afghani took over for Charles Martinet, recording dialogue for WarioWare: Move It!. Even so, Danny DeVito would be a popular choice, having previously expressed interest in the role.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie release date is set for April 1st, 2026. Nintendo is likely to address more unanswered questions before the film’s premiere.
