Without 48 GB VRAM: Asus launching new 14-inch gaming laptop soon in the US

Asus is taking its time with replacing the 2025 editions of the TUF Gaming A14 in the US (curr. $1,749 on Amazon). To recap, the company presented a FA401EA variant at the beginning of the year. Featuring the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 392 from the Strix Halo platform, the TUF Gaming FA401EA does away with a dedicated GPU altogether.
For those who prefer Nvidia GPUs, Asus has created the TUF Gaming A14 FA401GM with a GeForce RTX 5060 and the Ryzen AI 9 465 from AMD's Gorgon Point family. While both of these variants have reached some countries, Asus has yet to release either in North America.
However, it seems that could soon change for Asus' Strix Halo-based FA401EA variant. Previously, Asus had listed the laptop on its US website. Now, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video and Provantage have followed suit. Earmarked as a 'new release', B&H Photo Video states that the FA401EA is 'coming soon' and includes a sign-up button to be notified when pre-orders open. Meanwhile, Provantage warns that the FA401EA is out of stock when attempting to place an order.
In other markets, Asus pairs the Ryzen AI Max+ 392 with up to 64 GB of RAM. As a result, one could assign up to 48 GB VRAM while still keeping 16 GB RAM for system memory. Unfortunately, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video and Provantage have all confirmed previous suspicions that the US will only receive a 32 GB RAM variant. The TUF Gaming A14 FA401EA will be available in the US for $2,199 with 1 TB of storage, a second M.2 2280 slot, a 165 Hz display and a 73 Wh battery.
