Xiaomi has launched the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro in China. This smart home device is designed for your front door, providing various unlocking methods as well as the ability to view visitors thanks to the integrated camera.
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 4 Pro can be unlocked in 12 ways. One method is AI palm vein recognition, which is said to offer recognition in under one second, with a less than 1% rejection rate. This model also supports 3D facial recognition, which appears to have a similar level of accuracy. Other options include a fingerprint scanner, a number pad for a passcode, and an NFC reader. Plus, you can remotely unlock the door via the Xiaomi app.
On the outer part of the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 4 Pro is a camera, allowing you to see who is at your door on the HD screen on the internal element. With Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, you can also view live video on linked smart home devices like a TV or smart screen. Video is automatically captured if someone is detected outside your door for an abnormally long time. Plus, through the app, users can be notified if the door is left open, the outer panel is tampered with or if there are multiple incorrect passcode attempts. The model features a C-level lock cylinder with two battery types: a lithium battery running for up to four months and four dry cell batteries for up to six months of runtime.
In China, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 4 Pro retails for CNY 2,499 (~$348). It is unclear whether or when this model could reach other markets like Europe. Here, Xiaomi already sells related products like the Smart Doorbell 3S (curr. €69.99 at Xiaomi Germany).
