Epson has officially launched three premium document scanners under the A3 flatbed lineup, namely, the DS-51000WN, the DS-61000WN, and the DS-71000WN. All three document scanners feature a 4.3-inch LCD screen, smart scanning modes for books and photos, and built-in wireless, Ethernet, and USB connectivity.

Epson has extended its A3 flatbed document scanner lineup by introducing the DS-51000WN, the DS-61000WN, and the DS-71000WN document scanners in the US. The company’s latest premium document scanners don't come cheap, and they are said to support a wide range of document capture applications across finance, government, enterprise, and other business environments.

The Epson DS-61000WN and the DS-71000WN are high-performance document scanners. Both models offer high-speed duplex scanning, with speeds of up to 50 pages per minute (ppm) for the DS-61000WN and 70 ppm or higher for the DS-71000WN, along with daily duty cycles of 8,000 sheets and 11,200 sheets, respectively. These scanners have a 150-page automatic document feeder that accepts document sizes between 4.13 x 5.83 inches (10.4 x 14.8 cm) to 11.7 x 17 inches (29.7 x 43.1 cm) and document weights between 52 g/m² to 413 g/m².

Unfortunately, the base DS-51000WN model lacks an auto document feeder and peak daily duty cycle features. Interestingly, you only get EdgeLink support in the high-end DS-71000WN models, while the other two miss out on the companion app support. The latest A3 flatbed scanners support the common TWAIN and ISIS protocols for universal scanner software compatibility with different OSes such as Windows and Mac OS.

Despite a few differences, all three models have the following common features, including a larger 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen, built-in wireless (dual-band WiFi 2.4/5 GHz), 1000/100/10 Ethernet, and USB 3.2 Gen 1) connectivity, adjustable color depth (1-24 bit), resolution (50-1200 dpi), smart scanning modes for books and photos, and ScanWay PC-free scanning for easy sharing.

As for price, the Epson DS-51000WN, the DS-61000WN, and the DS-71000WN models are priced at $1,899, $3,699, and $4,999, respectively. All three A3 flatbed document scanners are now available for purchase via Epson’s official website and CapturePro-authorized retailers.
