Xiaomi launches new Smart Gas Water Heater Pro

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater Pro Soft Water Dual-Core 16L has been launched in China. According to the product listing, this smart home device is designed to supply hot water to your kitchen, bathroom and laundry room.

Xiaomi’s Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater Pro is said to soften water as well as heat it. The company suggests that soft water is beneficial when showering or bathing, making your skin smoother. Softening salts can be placed in a drawer-like container at the bottom of the water heater, and you can receive app reminders to replace the salts. Plus, Xiaomi claims that a resin bed through which the water travels can remove up to 99.9% of calcium and magnesium ions. On top of this, the four-stage filtration process removes 99.9% of bacteria.

The Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater Pro features dual-circulation technology for constant and precise temperatures. The TSI boost water pump means the hot water can reach higher floors faster. Plus, the Xiaomi Surge Smart Hot Water function can be used to intelligently trigger the device. For example, thanks to HyperOS Connect, you could link the heater to a smart door lock, so that water heating starts when you get home, ready for a relaxing bath or shower. It supports Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0, with app-based remote controls and is compatible with Xiao AI voice assistant. There are also safety features like water leak detection, overheating and antifreeze protection.

Xiaomi will sell the Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater Pro Soft Water Dual-Core 16L in China for CNY 5,999 (~$837). It has not announced plans to bring this product to markets like Europe, where it sells devices like Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 Mini (curr. €14.99 at Xiaomi Germany).
