Xiaomi has released two new Mijia Central Air Conditioner Super Energy Saving Duct Units. The smaller 3HP model has a 1,350 m³/h air circulation volume, while the 4HP model has a 1,580 m³/h air circulation volume.
The new Mijia Central Air Conditioner offers both heating and cooling. According to Xiaomi, it can start heating a room in 60 seconds or cooling a room in as little as 30 seconds. Plus, it has a wide operating temperature range of -35 to 60°C (~-31 to 140°F). The company claims that the device’s energy saving algorithm can help you to consume 21.8% less energy, compared to the same model without this algorithm. The 3HP variant has an annual performance factor (APF) of 4.72, while the larger 4HP version has an APF index of 4.5.
Xiaomi’s Mijia Central Air Conditioner comes with a standard wired controller, though users can opt to upgrade to the Mi Family Sensor Air Control Panel. This features two dual mmWave radars to detect people. As such, you can set the air conditioner to intelligently switch off when you leave the room, or to blow directly towards or away from the people in the room. The device supports HyperOS connect, with remote controls via the Xiaomi app, where users can also trigger OTA updates. Other features include a built-in air filter and self-cleaning functionality.
The 3HP and 4HP versions of the Xiaomi Mijia Central Air Conditioner Super Energy Saving Duct Units will retail for CNY 9,999 (~$1,398) and CNY 11,999 (~$1,677), respectively. It is unclear whether or not these models could reach other markets like Europe, where two smart air conditioners are expected to be released in the near future.
