The Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 5C has been launched in China. The company describes this model as offering “extreme edge extension”, with dual rotating mop heads which can extend to reach the side of your room. According to Xiaomi, the distance between the mop and the wall is under 1 mm.
The Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 5C offers an above average suction power of 15,000 Pa. Underneath are a central roller brush with anti-hair tangling technology, and a side brush. The mops can be intelligently lifted when cleaning the carpet, with various settings available through the Xiaomi app. Thanks to HyperOS Connect, it can be linked with other compatible smart home devices, which can be used to trigger or control the device.
For navigation, the Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 5C uses a wide angle laser with a 129° field of view (FOV). It is equipped with a 5,200 mAh battery, automatically returning to its docking station to charge as needed. There are two versions of the docking station, one with a water tank and another which can be connected to your home plumbing system. As well as charging, the dock provided cleaning features like emptying the robot’s onboard dustbin and cleaning the mop heads with water and scrapers.
The Water Tank Version of the Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 5C retails for CNY 2,499 (~$349) in China. Meanwhile, the Water Supply and Drainage Edition is priced at CNY 2,999 (~$419).
