The TCL NxtPaper 14 almost matches the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra in terms of screen size. Now, it is on sale for a limited time and serves as a more affordable alternative to those who want a large screen tablet that doesn't break the bank.

If you are on the search for a large screen tablet, specifically one that is larger than 12-inches, your choices are limited to flagships from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor, and OnePlus. However, a 14-inch tablet that doesn't break the bank is the TCL NxtPaper 14, and it is worth considering, especially now that it is discounted.

The TCL NxtPaper 14 has a list price of $439.99, but for a limited time, it is available to buy on Amazon for $369.99, about a third of the price of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra which we reviewed. While it won't best Samsung's flagship tablet, it does have a few strong features of its own.

Boasting a 14.3-inch display that almost rivals the 14.6-inch AMOLED display on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, the TCL NxtPaper has got some tricks not found on pricier tablets. Its large display uses TCL's proprietary NxtPaper 3.0 display technology which has a paper-like surface and a special button to change the display mode from standard to either a color paper mode or a black & white ink paper mode.

The 2400 x 1600 60Hz display, which has stylus support (4096 levels), has a matte finish that greatly reduces glare. There's a Helio G99 processor under the hood which is far from being the fastest processor but is decent for simple tasks such as reading and editing documents, surfing the web, and watching videos. The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage.

The TCL NxtPaper 14 has 13MP + 5MP dual front-facing cameras and an 8MP rear camera, all of which can record videos in 2K. It also has quad speakers but lacks an audio jack.

The tablet ships with Android 14 and as support for not just split-screen multitasking but also running apps in a floating window. It can also be used as a second display for a computer running Windows 10 or later. Owners will be able to mirror their computer's display or have the tablet work as an extended display.

TCL has equipped the tablet with a massive 10,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. It can also be used to charge other devices. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a charger in the box. However, TCL does ship it with the TCL T-Pen Stylus and a flip case.
