The TCL 60 series is a large family of smartphones with six models already, but it appears that TCL isn't done. The manufacturer just added a seventh model called the TCL 60 Ultra NxtPaper, and it does pack some ‘Ultra’ specs.
The TCL 60 Ultra NxtPaper tries to justify its name with its massive 7.2-inch display with a 2340 × 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel features TCL's signature NxtPaper technology which can imitate an E Ink display when you flick a switch on the side of the phone, thus making it great for reading.
The display also has stylus support and a centered punch hole for the 32MP front-facing camera like the TCL 60 XE NxtPaper (curr. available on Amazon for $222.49).
Powering the TCL 60 Ultra NxtPaper is a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 that is paired with 12GB of RAM. There's 512GB of storage on board and a MicroSD card slot for adding more storage. TCL has equipped the phone with a 50MP primary rear camera along with a second 50MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It also has an 8MP ultrawide angle camera.
The TCL 60 Ultra NxtPaper is said to have an audio jack and dual speakers with 3D sound and DTS support. It also has NFC, eSIM support, Face Unlock, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
What's a bit disappointing is its 5,200mAh battery capacity which doesn't match its ultra-sized display. There's fast charging but the exact speed isn't mentioned. However, our guess is that it is 33W like the TCL 60 NxtPaper.
The TCL 60 Ultra NxtPaper doesn't have a price yet but it comes with a charger, a protective case, and a stylus in the box. It is available in a single color option which is black.
