Xiaomi is slated to unveil the Xiaomi 15T series globally next month. The phones are expected to share a several similarities with the Redmi K80 series devices, but a new leak claims they'll differ from the China-exclusive Redmi phones in one key aspect.
As shared by leaker UnderCat, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro will not adopt the same design seen on the Redmi K80 series phones. The Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro launched towards the end of 2024, while the Redmi K80 Ultra debuted in June, with all three sporting a circular camera housing. Supposedly, however, the Xiaomi 15T phones will toe a different line.
To be exact, the leaker claims the Xiaomi 15T phones will sport a square-shaped camera module like the Xiaomi 14T (buy on Amazon) duo instead. Presumably, the upcoming sub-premium phones will also have the housing at their top left corners. The predecessors of the Xiaomi 15T have typically adopted the design of the Redmi K Ultra phones, and such a shift would be a first since the Mi 10T series. It's unclear why Xiaomi would make such a move, although it may have something to do with the fact that the Redmi K80 phones aren't exactly loved for their designs in China.
