Those looking for a smartphone with battery life that endures past the typical 5,000mAh standard might end up opting for one with a 'rugged' build designed for niche outdoor use-cases - but not anymore.
The range of 'normal-looking' smartphones that have batteries of 6,000mAh, 6,500mAh, 7,000mAh or even 8,300mAh, all at a variety of price-points but with a good chance of class-leading IP68/69 water- and dust-resistance, is now steadily growing.
They might all be outdone by their first-ever 10,000mAh counterpart next year, a device now said to be of a more or less 'normal' size with a display of 6.79 inches in diagonal length.
It is projected to have a resolution of 1.5K and be based on LTPS technology, which might mean that its massive battery allows it to prioritize user eye comfort over power efficiency.
The screen is thought to be driven by the Dimensity 8500 SoC, which might hint at relative affordability in this allegedly ground-breaking handset.
As for its name, it is currently believed to debut as the Honor Power 2, if not the X80 (a successor to the same OEM's biggest battery smartphone to date), later in the year.
