Xiaomi has just released the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus in China. For context, the company delivered its Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus successor alongside the Redmi Note 15 and Redmi Note 15 Pro. While none of these new smartphones have started shipping yet, people have already started digging into the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus firmware.
According to X user PaperKing13, Xiaomi's initial Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus firmware contains information about the handset's global variant. On the one hand, the global model is expected to deliver 10 W faster wired charging than its Chinese counterpart. Rated at 100 W, this would actually be a 20 W downgrade on the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus outside China and India (curr. $374 on Amazon).
To offset this, Xiaomi will include a 6,500 mAh battery as an upgrade over the 5,110 mAh option it uses in the global Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. Xiaomi is anticipated to tweak the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus' cameras for its global release too. Apparently, the global Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus will be one of several devices to use Samsung's ISOCELL S5KHPE, a 1/1.4-inch and 200 MP sensor that supports 4-in-1 pixel binning and 0.56 μm wide-pixels.
Moreover, early firmware indicates that Xiaomi will drop the OmniVision OV50M telephoto camera for global models while retaining the 8 MP OmniVision OV08F ultra-wide-angle camera used in its Chinese edition. At this stage, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi will introduce the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus outside China. However, past performance suggests that the device will reach at least India before the end of the year.
