A new Shelly product, the Power Strip 4 Gen4, has been spotted. This smart power strip has four individually controllable outlets, with remote controls via Matter and Zigbee. Plus, it supports power metering, with integrated LEDs showing the appliance’s energy consumption in real time.

Shelly appears to be launching a new device: the Power Strip 4 Gen4. This smart home product recently appeared in the database of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), the body responsible for the Matter protocol. It has also appeared on a support page on the brand’s website.

The Shelly Power Strip 4 Gen4 is described by the company as a smart power strip. It has four outlets with a maximum output power of 3680 W. These can be controlled individually, and it also offers power metering. The built-in wireless microcontroller unit supports Zigbee, Bluetooth, and Matter 1.3 over Wi-Fi. This means that it can be remotely controlled from a smartphone or laptop, and it will integrate with many smart home ecosystems.

Next to each of the Power Strip’s four outlets is a physical button, which can be used to manually switch the appliance on or off. Plus, the LED light ring surrounding each outlet can indicate the energy consumption of the appliance or its connection status. On top of this, there is protection against issues like overheating. Suitable for indoor use, the 4-socket power strip is expected to measure 42 x 280 x 57 mm (~1.7 x 11.0 x 2.2 inches) with a 1.5 m long power cable.

Both EU (type F, type E and type C plugs) and US (type A plug) versions of the Shelly Power Strip 4 Gen4 have been mentioned, as well as black and white colorways. It is unclear when this smart home product will launch and how much it will cost.
