Epson has released the Pro Cinema LS9000 4K HDR 3LCD Laser Projector in the US. Designed to create an immersive home theater or gaming experience, it arrives as a cheaper alternative to the Pro Cinema LS12000 ($5,999 RRP).
The LS9000 is a 4K LCD model with support for 4K 120Hz, like its predecessor. This model features similar pixel-shifting technology, as well as support for HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. The solid-state laser light source is said to deliver up to 2,200 lumens of color (IDMS Rated) and white (ISO rated) brightness, lower than the 2,700 lumens of the LS12000, and run for around 20,000 hours.
Epson’s LS9000 projector has a 1.32 - 2.84 throw ratio and a 2,500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. You can adjust the image with 3-axis motorized lens shift, keystone correction and zoom. Gaming features include under 20 ms input lag and dual HDMI ports (ARC/eARC). Other ports include USB-A, LAN RJ45 and RS-232C. Plus, there is support for smart home integrations with Control4, Crestron and PJLink. It is worth noting that this model appears to lack speakers.
You can now buy the Epson Pro Cinema LS9000 4K HDR 3LCD Laser Projector for $3,999 through authorized Epson dealers. The company describes this as a “breakthrough in price and performance in the 4K projector category”. Whether or when this model could be released in Europe is unclear.
