The Formovie X5 Pro projector has been released in China. Also known as the Fengmi X5 Pro, this model builds on the original X5, which was launched in this market in 2023. Like its predecessor, the new model supports a 4K (3,840 x 2,160 px) resolution.
The X5 Pro is slightly brighter than its predecessor, with the ALPD laser light source offering up to 2,500 CVIA lumens brightness; a measurement for an internationally recognised standard like ISO or ANSI lumens has yet to be provided. This DLP projector is said to throw images up to 1,000 inches (~2,540 cm) wide with a 1.27:1 throw ratio. There are image perfecting tools like keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance, and the model also supports HDR10+.
Formovie's X5 Pro has HDMI 2.1 and USB-A 2.0 ports, support for Wi-Fi 6 and 4+128 GB storage. Plus, this model has integrated 18W speakers tuned by Denon, compatible with Dolby Audio and DTS HD. Other features include support for Xiao AI voice commands, remote controls through the Xiaomi app and support for DeepSeek AI. With a fabric cover and the ‘starry sky glass’ front panel, the projector measures 217 x 210 x 167 mm (~8.5 x 8.3 x 6.6 inches).
In China, the Fengmi or Formovie X5 Pro projector is priced at CNY 7,999 (~$1,115). Whether or when it could be released in other markets like the US is unclear; here, the Formovie Theater retails for $2,099.99 (Amazon).
