Xgimi is offering a new ultra-short throw projector named the M1, which means it can basically be used as a TV replacement. The home theater device also sports an integrated speaker system.

Xgimi might be a familiar brand name for some readers. The company’s latest M1 projector can now be purchased on Banggood for €1,115 including shipping from an EU warehouse. Delivery should be quick and no import fees should apply for European shoppers. However, warranty claims might be difficult to enforce in case of a defect.

With that out of the way, the new Xgimi M1 is an ultra-short throw (also called UST) projector, which means it doesn’t need much distance to the projection surface. To be more exact, the manufacturer specifies a throw ratio of 0.21:1, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and support for 4K media content. The remaining specs include 750 ISO and 900 CVIA lumens of brightness, which is rather low compared to traditional projectors. Therefore, darkening the room with curtains is recommended. A 100-inch projection size only requires a distance of 9.4 inches, and the projector supports projections between 80 and 120 inches.

Xgimi’s new laser projector can also be adjusted to the color of a wall, which could improve color representation. Among other features, automatic keystone correction for easier installation is onboard as well. An audio system is integrated and sports two speakers with 31 watts of power, plus a 15-watt subwoofer. Moreover, the laser TV can be hooked up via two HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC support), and the remaining connectivity options include Ethernet, USB 2.0 and a headphone jack. An optical audio output is also available. Thanks to dual-band WiFi and a smart operating system, an external media player is not required.
