New BenQ LK830ST 4K laser projector officially announced

The BenQ LK830ST Laser Simulation Projector has been officially revealed. Described as an immersive entertainment model, it could be used for home golf simulation, interactive classrooms or at a leisure venue like a museum or theme park.

BenQ's LK830ST is a 4K UHD (3,840 × 2,160 px) projector with a short throw ratio of 0.496:1. It is equipped with a laser light source, said to deliver up to 4,000 ANSI lumens brightness. According to the company's estimates, this will run for 20,000 hours in Normal Mode or 30,000 hours in Eco Mode. With a native 16:9 aspect ratio, it has 3,000,000:1 FOFO contrast and covers 93% of the Rec. 709 color space. Users can throw images up to 300 inches (~762 cm) wide, perfecting them with tools like Corner Fit and 2D Keystone Correction.

Users of this BenQ projector can choose between a range of modes, including Simulation, 3D, HDR10, HLG and sRGB. The LK830ST's product listing indicates that it has 16.7 ms input lag at 1080P@60 Hz, with a horizontal frequency range of 15 to 135 KHz and a vertical scan rate of 23 to 240 Hz. Ports include HDMI, LAN, USB and RS-212, and there is also a built-in 15W speaker. It is relatively compact, measuring 279 x 121 x 229 mm (~11.0 x 4.8 x 9.0 inches) and weighing 3.4 kg (~7.5 lbs).

According to a recent press release, BenQ will officially release the LK830ST Laser Simulation Projector in September 2025. In Europe, it is said to have a €2,399 RRP. However, it is currently available at online retailer Golfroom for €1,999. The US release date and pricing of this model have yet to be announced.
