Optoma has unveiled the UHR90DV Home Theater Projector in Taiwan. This is the brand’s new flagship model and is also its first triple laser offering. Plus, it is said to be the first projector to be certified for both Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced.
The UHR90DV is a 4K UHD projector with a native 16:9 display ratio. This model has a 1.25-2.0:1 throw ratio, producing images between 80 and 300 inches wide. According to the product listing, it has a 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, and covers 96% of the BT.2020 and 98% of the DCI-P3 color spaces. The triple-laser RGB light source is said to deliver up to 5,000 ISO lumens brightness, and should run for around 30,000 hours. As well as Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced, there is also support for HDR10+ and Filmmaker Mode.
Users can adjust the image on the UHR90DV with tools like focus, motorized 1.6x zoom and horizontal and vertical lens shift. Plus, Optoma also lists an “advanced” lens memory tool for up to five groups of settings. For gaming, there is an 8.5 ms input lag at 1080p@240Hz and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). An operating system or interface is not mentioned; users will likely need to connect an accessory like Apple TV or a Fire TV Stick to access streaming services. This model does not appear to have built-in speakers, but it offers a range of ports like HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0 (ARC/eARC out), USB-A, S/PDIF and RJ45.
The Optoma UHR90DV Home Theater Projector measures 486 x 432.5 x 185.5 (19.1 x 17.0 x 7.3 inches). The price and release date of this product have yet to be announced. It is also unclear whether or when this model could be released in other markets like the US, where the company already sells cheaper models like the HD146X (curr. $569 at Amazon).
