Wolfenstein, the father of first-person shooter games as we know them today, is among the most beloved franchises on the market. MachineGames, the studio currently in charge of the IP, rebooted the franchise in 2014 with the release of Wolfenstein: The New Order. Since then, the series has spawned four mainline entries for consoles and PCs, with the latest being Wolfenstein: Young Blood.
Taking place in an alternate history where Nazis won World War 2 and have conquered much of the globe, Wolfenstein games deliver a fascinating narrative, look great, and are fun to play. So, if you’ve never played the series or have some titles to catch up on, this is the time to do it.
Thanks to the ongoing QuakeCon 2025 Steam sale, you can now get all four games for just $15.08 as part of the Wolfenstein Alt History Collection. This is a humongous 79% discount.
Wolfenstein Alt History Collection
Once you own the Wolfenstein Alt History Collection, you can either play the games in the order of release or in the order based on the story’s timeline. Based on the order of the release, Wolfenstein: The New Order is the first entry in the series, followed by Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Wolfenstein: Young Blood.
Wolfenstein: The New Order has you take control of William "B.J." Blazkowicz, an American spy, and fight against the Nazis who won WW2 and now occupy the US in this alternate reality. In this 12-hour adventure, you will embark on dangerous yet thrilling missions, slay hordes of enemies, and fight against big Nazi machinations.
The next entry in the series, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, is a prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order. Set in 1946, the game takes players on an adventure through the Nazi stronghold of Castle Wolfenstein and the Nazi-controller city of Wulfburg. Like the previous game, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is filled to the brim with action-packed missions, exciting exploration, and a rich narrative.
While both of the previous Wolfenstein games are rated “Very Positive” on Steam, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is considered by many to be the best of the new Wolfenstein games. It has a Metacritic of 86 and has garnered high praise for its spectacular writing, complex characters, fantastic main villain, and fun gameplay.
In essence, Wolfenstein II is nearly perfect and a must-play.
Finally, Wolfenstein: Young Blood takes a different approach to the first three games in the series. The game is co-op, although it can be played alone, and features a non-linear structure. However, the game design and, more importantly, execution fell short of the earlier entries. It is for this reason that Wolfenstein: Young Blood is quite badly rated.
On the flip side, while you might not have played the game if you had to buy it at full retail, the 79% off on the Wolfenstein Alt History Collection makes it easy to give Wolfenstein: Young Blood a shot.
Long story short, the Wolfenstein Alt History Collection on sale for just $15 is an incredible deal and one worth looking into.
