DJI has just completed another batch of releases by way of the Mic 3, Mini 5 Pro and Osmo Nano. While these follow on from the recent Osmo 360 (curr. $601.99 on Amazon), Igor Bogdanov has discovered that a new Ronin series device is already at an advanced stage of development.
As the screenshot below shows, DJI has now certified the RS 5 with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US. In the past, this would have been a sure sign that DJI is preparing to offer the device there. However, the Mavic 4 Pro and Mini 5 Pro remain without a US release.
With that being said, DJI did decide to launch the RS 4 Mini in the US at the start of the year. Still the series' latest release, the RS 4 Mini featured a larger battery than its predecessor and a new Intelligent Tracking Module. Based on initial FCC documentation, DJI hopes to emulate at least one of those tricks with the Ronin 5 or RS 5.
Specifically, the image that Igor Bogdanov has shared reveals the presence of a 33.29 Wh battery, up from 21 Wh in the RS 4. Moreover, this battery upgrade would surpass the RS 4 Pro too, which features a 30 Wh battery capacity out of the box. An RS 5 release date remains unknown for the time being, as do other changes from the RS 4 series. Based on past performance, we would be surprised to see the RS 5 officially launching before the start of next year.
