Deal | Affordable DJI Mini 4K drone with 12 MP camera is now available for a record-low price on Amazon

DJI Mini 4K is an outstanding entry-level drone with an attractive set of features. Courtesy of an ongoing sale on Amazon, the drone can now be bought with a sizeable 25% discount for a limited time, bringing its price down to an all-time low price of just $225.

The Mini 4K is an affordable and compact powerhouse

The DJI Mini 4K is pretty compact, coming in at just around 25 x 29 x 5.6 cm when unfolded. At 246 grams, carrying the drone is no major hassle either. The single camera at the front can shoot 12 MP photos, and capture videos at up to 4K at 60 FPS (or 2.7K at 60 FPS). The drone lasts around 31 minutes according to official specs, but real-world flight times will undoubtedly vary greatly depending on weather conditions and usage.

According to TechRadar's review of the Mini 4K, the drone lasts roughly around 20 minutes, which is pretty solid for its category. The review further paints an overwhelmingly positive picture of the drone, hailing it as "probably" the best choice for beginners. Image quality is very decent, with the 12 MP, 1/2.3-inch sensor allowing for sharp images and perfectly acceptably dynamic range. The camera is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal, which should help with stabilization.

In-flight performance is also respectable, with the "Sport" mode allowing the drone to fly at up to 35 MPH. Maximum distance is set at 5 kms, and maximum altitude is set at 500 meters - but as TechRadar points out, it would definitely be a good idea for beginners to stay a lot closer and follow regional altitude limits. There is no object-collision avoidance system, which is to be expected considering the price.

At its current all-time low price on Amazon, the DJI Mini 4K provides a lot of bang for buck, especially for beginners. Customers will need to supply their own microSD card for full-quality photo and video captures, which is worth noting.
