Last month, Redmi introduced a 'Pro Max' model in its performance-oriented series. Now it seems that OnePlus will also adopt the 'Pro Max' branding for its next smartphone. The company recently released the flagship OnePlus 15 and the more affordable OnePlus Ace 6. A new leaked image suggests the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max is in the works.
A leaked image on Weibo reveals a retail box for the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max. Only the front side of the box is visible, displaying the 'Pro Max' moniker, and no specifications were revealed.
However, it is not a surprise that OnePlus is working on a new phone. In September, the company confirmed that it will launch the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered smartphone. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the standard Ace 6. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be positioned below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which powers the OnePlus 15.
Furthermore, the upcoming phone is expected to feature a 1.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It may also be the company’s smartphone with the largest battery, boasting a capacity of more than 8,000 mAh.
Do note that there is no confirmation on the 'Pro Max' branding yet. The retail box appears authentic, but verification is difficult in the age of easy AI image generation. Therefore, treat the leak cautiously until the company officially confirms the name of its new phone. It is expected to launch by year-end in China.
