The Motorola Edge 70 was released recently as an upper mid-range device with a slim profile. Now, a new leak has surfaced online suggesting that Motorola is working on a more premium model, the Edge 70 Ultra.
For those wondering, the predecessor Edge 60 series did not include an Edge 60 Ultra. This may be because Motorola typically releases Ultra models biennially (every two years). Therefore, the company is expected to skip the Edge 60 Ultra and proceed directly to the Edge 70 Ultra.
A new leak from tipster @ZionsAnvin on the social media site X reveals a few key highlights of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. The tipster claims that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This is a new Qualcomm sub-flagship chipset expected to make its debut soon with the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max. Leaks suggest that it may perform slightly better than last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
The source also claims that the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra will feature an OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. Additionally, the smartphone is tipped to feature a periscope telephoto camera. It is also said to have a slim and lightweight design. Currently, there is no concrete information regarding the release date of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra.
For reference, the predecessor Motorola Edge 50 Ultra featured a 6.7-inch P-OLED panel with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. It came with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary, a 64MP periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The phone featured the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Packing a 4,500mAh battery, it featured 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.
