Motorola is yet to announce the Motorola Edge 60 Ultra, and it might never do so. However, a reputable leaker says there's an Edge 70 Ultra, but that isn't expected to arrive until 2026.

The Motorola Edge 60 series is quite a large family with models that include the standard Edge 60 as well as the Edge 60 Fusion, Edge 60 Pro, the Edge 60 Stylus, and the China-exclusive Edge 60s. However, there's one model that is yet to launch, and that is the Edge 60 Ultra; and according to new info, there might not be one.

Last year's Edge 50 Ultra was the top model of the Edge 50 series, although some wouldn't call it a flagship considering it launched with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and not the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that powered other 2024 Android flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S24.

However, with features such as up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, triple rear cameras that include a 64MP periscope telephoto lens, a 50MP selfie camera, and a 4,500mAh battery that can charge at up to 125W with a wired charger and 50W with a wireless charger, and support for Ultra Wideband; the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra (available on Amazon for €657.79) could best many of its rivals in other areas apart from raw performance.

While many might be looking forward to a successor this year, Evan Blass says that might not happen. According to a post on X by the famed leaker, there might not be a Motorola Edge 60 Ultra. However, in the same breath, the leak reveals the existence of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra which isn't expected to arrive until next year.

There's no info as to why Motorola might not launch the Edge 60 Ultra but one theory is that the Edge Ultra model gets a biennial release. This theory holds water considering the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra released in 2022 didn't get a successor in 2023 but was instead succeeded by the Edge 50 Ultra in 2024. So it makes sense why there isn't an Edge 60 Ultra while the existence of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra has been confirmed, albeit from an unofficial source.
