Motorola has officially introduced the Edge 2025, which is positioned as a mid-range phone with the company's most "capable" camera array. It's powered by the Dimensity 7400 and will be available from June 5, 2025 for $549.

The Motorola Edge 2025 is now official as a new mid-range phone. It will be available for $549 in the US starting June 5, 2025, making it roughly reside in the same segment as the Pixel 9a and Galaxy A56. One of the major highlights of Motorola's new smartphone is the camera setup.

Motorola says that the Edge 2025 has the company's most "capable" camera array, featuring a 50 MP Sony Lytia 700c primary sensor. The primary camera is paired with an upgraded 50 MP ultrawide, which has a dedicated macro mode. There's a new telephoto sensor on the back as well, and it's a 10 MP sensor with 30x "Super Zoom."

As for the front, the Motorola Edge 2025 has seen an upgrade over its predecessor, featuring a 50 MP selfie shooter. The last-gen phone, in comparison, sports a 32 MP sensor. Speaking of the front, the smartphone sees an upgrade in terms of the display as well.

It comes with a slightly larger 6.7-inch pOLED panel with 2712x1220 pixels resolution, 4,500 nits peak brightness rating, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which, according to Motorola, makes the phone two times more resistant to scratches and shattering than the predecessor.

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 2025 packs the Dimensity 7400, one of the newer mid-range SoCs MediaTek launched earlier this year. It's paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The internals of the phone are powered by a 5,200 mAh battery that supports 15 W wireless charging and 68 W wired charging (165 W Anker 25K power bank curr. $109.98 on Amazon).

Besides that, like any other new phone launching in 2025, the new Motorola Edge has AI-powered features, including Image Studio for generating images, Playlist Studio for custom playlists, and Remember This for saving info from notes and photos. These can be activated through the new AI button. Other notable aspects of the mid-range phone include IP68 and IP69 protection, Dolby Atmos, and a dark green finish.
