Acer has made a comeback as a smartphone maker with the Super ZX and Super ZX Pro. We previously covered the company’s plans to release these models, and they are now finally available for purchase in India. The company appears to be targeting budget-conscious consumers, with the Super ZX costing around $105 after currency conversion, though its seems several discounts have already been factored into this list price. Currently, pricing and availability in other regions haven't been announced yet. It likewise remains unclear whether they will see a wider international release.
There are significant differences between the two models beyond just their processors. For example, the Super ZX Pro features an AMOLED display, whereas the non-Pro version comes with an LCD screen. Acer claims the AMOLED display boasts a peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m² in High-Brightness Mode (HBM). Although HBM peak brightness values provided by manufacturers aren’t always directly comparable, the Super ZX Pro’s display doesn’t seem to get extremely bright. However, both screens do support refresh rates of up to 120 Hz according to official specs.
The Pro version is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400, whilst the standard ZX Super runs on a Dimensity 6300. Not only is the Dimensity 6300 built on a 6 nm node rather than the 4 nm process used for the 7400, it also includes only two Cortex-A76 performance cores, compared to the four Cortex-A78 cores in the 7400. The Pro model can be configured with up to 12 GB of memory and 512 GB of internal storage. By contrast, the standard ZX Super maxes out at 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Despite these differences, both smartphones share several features, including a 64 MP main camera, 5G connectivity, and dual SIM support.
