Casio’s full-metal square lineup is about to get a brand new update. Leaked images of the upcoming GMW-BZ5000 series show a reworked modular case structure, new MiP displays, and three color variants.
According to the leak, the GMW-BZ5000 will launch in three versions:
- GMW-BZ5000D-1 (Negative Silver)
- GMW-BZ5000GD-1 (Negative Black)
- GMW-BZ5000GD-9 (Positive Gold)
Each one of the above keeps the familiar stainless steel construction but features a redesigned case with side modules that appear removable or at least newly constructed. This modular side-piece layout closely resembles the design first seen in the GCW-B5000UN model, which could mean more customizable or easier-to-service full-metal models could be on the way.
Visually, the new GMW-BZ5000 watches have the iconic 5000-series shape, but the MiP (Memory in Pixel) display is the key change. Unlike the traditional LCD, MiP displays offer way better readability, especially in low light or at a glance, which is something fans have long requested in the metal lineup. The black and gold variants feature negative displays, while the silver one uses a more legible positive layout.
Also of note is the potential pricing: the leak lists €599 for the steel version and €649 for the colored ion-plated models. While these figures are unconfirmed, they’d make the BZ5000 models slightly more expensive than current B5000 series offerings.
No exact release date has been confirmed yet, but as per the source (@geesgshock on Instagram) expects a launch in the latter half of 2025. And if these images are final production renders, it’s likely Casio is gearing up for an official announcement soon.
