RedMagic has been teasing the launch of a new Android gaming tablet that will arrive as a challenger to Lenovo's 4th generation Legion Y700 tablet. While it was expected to launch today alongside the RedMagic 10S, unfortunately, that didn't happen. Instead, the Chinese manufacturer announced a separate launch date for the gaming tablet.
The tablet, whose model name is currently unknown, is scheduled to launch on June 11 in China. Although RedMagic is yet to confirm a global launch, there's a high chance it won't be exclusive to China going by the RedMagic Nova gaming tablet which got a global release just a few weeks after its announcement in China.
The upcoming tablet is reported to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same one inside the RedMagic 10 Pro (available on Amazon for $749). However, the highlight of the tablet seems to be its extremely narrow and uniform bezels. RedMagic keeps emphasizing this feature, so it must be a big deal.
The tablet is reported to have a 9-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1504 resolution which is larger but not as sharp as the 8.8-inch 3040 x 1904 display of the Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 4. On the bright side, the RedMagic tablet will pack an 8,240mAh battery which is larger than the 7,600mAh battery capacity of Lenovo's own tablet. It has also been reported that the RedMagic tablet will have a built-in cooling fan.
